Brightsign conversion/Installation
Install instructions for a Brightsign mediplayer conversion to Visual Art CMS.
Step 1
Validate that the purple Brightsign media player has a working internet connection. This intallation will not work without a working internet connection.
Step 2
dentify the USB port location on the purple Brightsign player. There will be a few older Brightsign players that don't have an USB only a SD card. In most cases the existing SD card can be reformated and used to install our software.
Step 3
Option 1 - Installation directly on SD-Card
Unzip all files/folders in this zipfile to a clean micro SD-card
Put the Micro-SD card into the BrightSign player and boot it up. It will do several reboots and after around 5 minutes will the SP3 pairing screen/secret be shown.
Opton 2 - Installation through inserted USB (USB-C) to SD-Card
Put the 2 autorun.* files in this zipfile in the root of a USB
Insert the USB into the BrightSign USB-C slot and reboot it. During the reboot there will be a message that the installation has been copied and a message to remove the USB for the player to continue with the installation (as in option 1 above). All previos content on the micro-SD will be erased. The Players LS425, LS424 and LS423 all have an USB-C connector.
(The USB-disk can be reused in multiple installations).
Note that the screen will likely power down and power up again several times during the install process, taking roughly 5 minutes for the process.
During the reboot there will be a message that the installation has been copied and a message to remove the USB for the player to continue with the installation.
Once the installation is completed the screen is red with a white box in the upper left corner.
